Online Pet Memorial

After receiving many letters from people wondering how I came to start my little pet memorial store, I decided to simply put it all down in writing. This way, those of you who are curious about such things can be satisfied. Of course, if you're not, feel free to move on to our products page anytime. I won't be offended.

Actually, it was a combination of events, coupled with the sudden loss of my own little beagle, Sammy. In truth, Sammy's passing was entirely expected; she'd been my darling girl for 15 years, and had lived a good life. But I find it doesn't matter if it's "expected" or not. To me, a pet's death always feel sudden.

Some years ago, I had been working at a Big Corporate Healthcare Center, when they decided (like they do) to "downsize." I found myself--after a decade here and there--without a job. And then, just like some country song, my beloved Sammy was gone.

I knew that I needed to find a way to symbolically acknowledge Sammy, and her contribution to my life. I needed to do this for her, and also for myself. I searched, but was astonished at the prices. I thought, "even if I had a job, I couldn't afford these memorials." It seemed to me someone needed to come up with beautiful, dignified pet memorials that didn't cost a fortune. It's only right.

And it just hit me, right then and there, that this could be my own Chapter Two. After all, life is constantly beginning. So I searched out some local potters and stone cutters, put my first few memorials on my site, and I've been here ever since.
